At The Job Shoppe our Human Resources Department partners with employees to create a workplace that is resilient, innovative and collaborative.
In this role will report to the Human Resource Manager and will work with employees of different levels in the organization. The HR Coordinator role is both hands-on and will be involved in all areas of human resources, with a focus on employee relations, health & safety, development and legal compliance.
-Administration of employee leaves of absence including conducting initial calls, providing advice to the employee, follow up and tracking. Upkeep communication with the recruiter throughout the duration of the leave
-Be the main point of contact for external employees’ workplace injuries including incident reports, progress towards recovery, wellness checks, and tracking.
-Participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) ensuring that committee objectives are met and taking meeting minutes.
-Assist the Recruitment team completing and uploading candidate onboarding documents and training sign offs. Providing recommendations to simplify the process.
-Support employee engagement events within the company
-Provide backup for candidate onboarding, peak recruitment, and job fairs
-Support HR initiatives to better TJS projects and initiatives

-Post -secondary education in Human Resources (degree or certificate).
-Minimum 2 to 4 years of progressive HR experience
-Thorough knowledge of relevant provincial and federal legislation.
-Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
-Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
-Self-motivated and a team player.
-Ability to work with minimal supervision.
-Strong multi-tasking ability and detail oriented.
